AI Quick Edit and smarter completions

Select code, describe what should change, review a diff, and accept — all without leaving the editor.

What shipped

  • AI Quick Edit (⌘+K). Select code in the editor, open the code action menu, and choose "Edit with AI." Describe what you want changed in plain text — or pick a preset like "Fix errors" or "Simplify" — and review a side-by-side diff before accepting. Toggle it on or off in Editor Settings under AI Features.

  • Syntax-highlighted code preview. The Quick Edit dialog now shows your selected code with full syntax highlighting instead of plain text, so you can read context at a glance before writing your instruction.

  • Error-aware inline completions. Inline AI suggestions now see your current TypeScript and CSS errors. If your code has a diagnostic, the completion model gets that context and can suggest a fix inline — no extra action needed.

Why it matters

Quick Edit gives you a fast, scoped way to refactor or fix code without switching to a separate tool. Combined with error-aware completions, the editor now catches and helps resolve issues as you type.
