The editor lock follows the tab that holds it

Taking control in one tab now drops your other tabs to read only right away, and a tab that lost the lock can no longer save over it.

What shipped

  • Take control in a second tab and the first one switches to viewing within a couple of seconds, with the viewer bar and a Take control button of its own.
  • A tab that lost the lock can't save, deploy, restore or change settings any more. Every write checks that the tab making it is the one holding the lock.
  • The "edit control transferred" notice only shows up when control actually moved. It no longer fires when you open the editor.
  • No more "Files synced" notice and extra refresh on every editor open.

Why it matters

The lock used to be per person, not per tab. Open the same project twice and both tabs behaved like the editor, and the one you forgot about could still save on top of the one you were working in. Now the lock belongs to one tab, and the others know it.
